Mark Brown is 58 old and has served the community for most of his life. Mark was first elected Mayor of Summerfield in 2005, and then again in 2007. He is running for his third term as Mayor of the Town of Summerfield – because he wants to complete the projects he started. He has two sons, Adam, who is 21 and a senior at Appalachian State University; and Alan, who is 28 and who is a doctoral student in education at the University of Alabama. Mark is married to Mamie, who encourages Mark to serve his community.
o During Mark’s career, he served under four Sheriff’s, in positions including those of a patrol officer, a field training officer, detective, Patrol Sergeant, Lieutenant of C Platoon of the Patrol Division, which consisted of 14 patrol officers and desk personnel, and Asst. District Commander of the Sheriff’s Dept District 1 office, which consisted of 32 patrol officers and detectives working northwest Guilford County including Summerfield, Stokesdale, and Oak Ridge. The last four years Mark served as the Records Lieutenant over a myriad of administrative sections, including sex offender enforcement, concealed weapons permits, pistol permits, 24 hour staff duty office, as well as video poker enforcement.
